Supreme Court upholds explanation of ballot issue
The South Dakota Federation of AFL-CIO had challenged the explanation of the constitutional amendment, which would guarantee the right to a secret ballot in political elections and efforts to organize labor unions. It wanted the measure removed from the ballot.

Capito will not run for Senate
Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., will not run for the state’s vacant U.S. Senate seat, she announced this morning. The surprise decision from the state’s most prominent Republican appears to clear Democratic Gov. Joe Manchin’s way to Washington.
